East Baltimore Development Initiative Engineering Consulting and Design Services. Baltimore, MD. Survey Manager. Project involves engineering and surveying services for this $18 million redevelopment project of 50 acres of urban community adjacent to the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Research Centers into a future Biotechnical Research Park, community center, and residential redevelopment including townhomes, garden condominiums, and senior mid-rise housing. Mr. Ruzicka was responsible for all survey controls, topographic surveys, and surveys for utilities locations for 50 acres of urban community.
Flag House Courts Redevelopment. Baltimore, MD. Task Manager. Project involved site/civil engineering, landscape architecture, survey and mapping, environmental planning, and construction administration services to create a new mixed-use, mixed-income community which will include 338 new townhouses. Services included road layout, water and sewer mains, grading, drainage, and erosion and sediment control.
West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Facilities Master Plan, Paradigm Architecture, Lewisburg, WV.Project Surveyor. Project involved the mapping of the entire facility which incorporated both aerial photogrammetry, and on-the-ground surveying in order to develop a Master Plan for the facility. Mr. Ruzicka directed activities to acquire considerable supplemental data as the existing infrastructure was an unknown and required to plan the expansion of the facility. Of particular importance to expansion was the location, size, depth and capacity of the existing infrastructure. With this information, planners and engineers were able to determine existing capacity and plan appropriately for the growth of the campus.
National Institutes of Health - Johns Hopkins Bayview Campus. Baltimore, MD. Surveyor. The project involved multi-discipline engineering services for Johns Hopkins Real Estate to support the construction of a new 540,000 SF, 10-story research building within the existing Johns Hopkins Bayview campus. Specific services included surveyying and subsurface locations, geotechnical engineering, site/civil engineering, and stormwater management design. Surveying tasks included topography, subsurface utility designation and creation of a comprehensive base mapping and existing conditions plan for design purposes.
Northfields Residential and Commercial Development. West Manheim, PA. Project Surveyor. This project involved site/civil engineering and surveying services as well as environmental and geotechnical services in conjunction with the development of a 278-acre farm in West Manheim Township, York County, Pennsylvania. The proposed development consists of 415 townhouses, 275 single-family houses, 500,000 SF of commercial buildings, and 1,000,000 SF of industrial space. Project required integration of base photogrammetry, supplemental topography and location of exisitng utilities. All data was collected elctronically and blended into a one cohesive existing conditions base map for design. Surveyors were instrumental in the entire project
General Engineering and Landscape Architectural Services. Prince George's County, MD. Project Surveyor. Provided full service engineering, surveying, and landscape architectural services to M-NCPPC on multiple parks for eight years under several consecutive contracts. Projects have included trail design, stormwater management design, parking lot design, historic structure stabilization and relocation, and park improvements. Mr. Ruzicka provided survey services for multiple tasks including Colmar Manor Community Park, Old Fort Hills Neighborhood Playground and Parking Lot, Lake Artemesia Trail Underpass Drainage Improvements, Birchwood City Community Park Design, Darnell Chance Museum, and Foxhill Community Park Design.
Canaan Valley Resort State Park. Davis, WV. Project Surveyor. This project included engineering and surveying services for the lodge expansion and facility improvements. The surveying scope involved aerial photogrammetry for approximately 4,400 acres with supplemental ground survey and utility location to produce a comprehensive existing conditions plans for design purposes. Utility locations were measured along with invert elevations and utility systems mapped. Additional information was shown that depicted utilities from plans, which assisted the survey team in displying appropriate connectivity.
Fort Howard Redevelopment. Baltimore County, MD. Project Surveyor. This project involved the planning, engineering, surveying and landscape architecture for the redevelopment of the 94-acre Veterans Administration Campus in the community of Fort Howard, located at the south end of North Point Road adjacent to Fort Howard Park. The property forms a peninsula bounded on the west side by the Patapsco River and on the east side by the Chesapeake Bay. The new development will include residential, retail, and medical uses. The surveying aspects of the project included a boundary and topographic survey and locations through construction.
Spa Creek Apartments. Annapolis, MD. Surveyor. Project involved geotechnical engineering, laboratory, and construction inspection services to The City of Annapolis Spa Creek Apartments for the proposed construction of 3,780 SF single-story building pool club house. The proposed club house will include a fitness area, community rooms, and leasing offices. Mr. Ruzicka dispatched field survey crews to measure eighteen existing remolded apartments and/or condominium buildings in the Spa Creek development for the purpose of preparing condominium plats. The effort was essentially an as-built survey of the existing buildings and property. KCI utilized field measurements to prepare condominium plats depicting floor plans for the buildings, reflecting common and non-common elements, unit square footage, and elevations for each unit within phases 3-6 to include the Phasing Sheets and Site Plans.
